Skin Care
Everyone has experienced skin problems. It is hard to find somebody who has never experienced any kind of skin disease. But what do we know about them? Sometime we do treat skin problems too light and do not take the needed treatment as if they can perish on their own. That approach is absolutely wrong. Modern day drugs can help you treat any kind of skin problems varying from acne, dermatitis to fungal lesions of skin.
The most common skin problems are:
- Dermatitis
- Eczema
- Acne
- Fungal infestations
- Rosacea
Dermatitises are a large variety of skin problems, that literally mean "skin inflammations". The most frequently seen dermatitis is - atopic dermatitis or allergical dermatitis it needs the most complex treatment of all and sometimes can even turn into a chronic disease if the allergic agent is not removed completely. Other forms of dermatitis can be the following: contact, toxic, viral, bacterial, fungal, scabby dermatitis. You can understand what dermatitis is without leaving your home. For example if during dish washing you do not use any protective gloves in a week or more the skin might become irritated and start peeling, sometimes even itching may occur, and painful cracks on the fingers may start to appear.
Another skin problem is Eczema that is a little different from normal dermatitis due to the manifestation that it causes. It is manifested on skin as a tightly gathered serous "wells" that form small blisters. When the illness is in the initial stage than acute seasons may appear 1-2 times a year and last for 2-3 weeks causing light itching. But in severe cases without treatment eczema can be permanent. This skin problem affects all ages and is not connected with human organism development unlike the next disease.
Skin problems like Acne Vulgaris nowadays can't be considered as a puberty skin problem but is more like a severe skin disorder that is hard to treat that may affect all ages. But what do doctors say about such a skin problem as acne? Acne is a chronic genetical disorder of oil glands, that is connected with their intensified sensitivity to stimulation with androgens (mail sex hormones), follicular hyperceratosis, vital activity of certain microorganisms like (Propionibacterium acnes), tissue inflammation on certain skin areas with a wide spread system of oil glands.
A well known preparation nowadays has recommended itself as a great drug for fighting severe and developed Acne it is Roaccutane (isotretionin). The drug was developed by Hoffman La Roche and chemically is a synthetic analogue of vitamin A. Roaccutane produces a stable and certain effect. Since its approval and appearance on the pharmaceutical market roaccutane has taken its rightful place in the treatment of sever forms of acne. The firm effect of this drug is reached by nearly complete inhibition of secretory activity of oil glands - that is the main cause of bacterial reproduction. The results from roaccutane treatment are much better then from antibiotic and hormonal therapy that is sometimes prescribed. Long-term clinical practice indicates that the drug is effective in 95% of cases and is also characterized by long remission periods. Relapse of acne can occur only due to inappropriate dosing of the preparation.
Other skin problems like for example fungal infestations are also hard to treat. Specific microorganisms affect skin, hair, nails. Such diseases due to their contagiousness are separated into a separate group in dermatology. Despite of the fact that improving of hygiene has significantly decreased the number of infestations with this skin problem the illness still persists.
And lastly we want to mention Rosacea a chronic widespread skin problem that affects primarily facial skin. Generally such a skin problem develops in the 4-th decade of human life. The causes for Rosacea can vary widely and have not been thoroughly studied. The beginning stages are characterized by severe irritation and redness of skin mostly on the cheeks that in later stages may form into papuls. Gradually the redness becomes more severe and affects the nose, chin or other skin areas. This skin problem is very hard to treat on the later stages! That is why if a person prefers spicy food, or suffers from alcoholism he is in the risk group of acquiring Rosacea. As soon as first symptoms of this skin problem arise be sure to consult a doctor.
