• The medication should be used with caution in: diseases of the digestive tract in the acute phase (dysphagia, esophagitis, gastritis, duodenitis, peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer), esophageal structure, achalasia of esophagus, chronic renal failure, hypocalcemia, vitamin D deficiency.

Which undesirable side effects may be caused by the drug?

The Fosamax adverse effects include:

• Digestive system: abdominal pain, dysphagia, heartburn, esophagitis, ulcer or erosion of the esophagus, stomachodynia, dyspepsia, flatulence, constipation or diarrhea, nausea
• CNS: headache, irritability
