• Infections of the lower respiratory tract: aggravation of chronic bronchitis, pneumonia caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae and Moraxella catarrhalis;
• Infections of the urogenital system: gonorrhea caused Neisseria gonorrhoeae, cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, infections of the female genital organs caused by bacteria from Enterobacteriaceae group, Staphylococcus saprophyticus,
• Skin and soft tissue infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes amd Bacteroides;
• Bone and joints infections: osteomyelitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus
• Other mixed infections including septic abortion, obstetric sepsis and intra-abdominal infections.

In which cases you must be cautious or completely discontinue the drug?

Augmentin is contraindicated for use in:

• Jaundice and liver disorders
• Hypersensitivity to amoxicillin or clavulanic acid and other beta-lactam antibiotics
• Infectious mononucleosis

Which undesirable side effects may be caused by the drug?

• Diarrhea or loose stools
