Use of aspirin at the age of 40 and over reduces the risk of death from common cancers by 34%

Aspirin - Acetylsalicylic Acid
According to the study of British and Japanese scientists there is a connection between regular use of small doses of aspirin and the number of deaths from cancer.
Professor Peter Rothwell from Oxford University, leader of research group explains that they are talking about the regular use of low doses of aspirin, 0.75 grams per day. For comparison: the daily dose of aspirin during the cold treatment is 1-4 grams.
In the research were involved over 25000 of patients. Scientists have found that for patients at the age of 40-50 years the risk of death from prostate cancer reduced by 10%, by 30% for lung cancer, by 40% for bowel cancer and 60% for esophagus cancer. But the effect become visible only after taking the drug for 5 years and more.
For oncology discovery is largely symbolic, because suddenly it became clear that even such simple drugs like aspirin, helps in the treatment or rather the prevention of cancer.
Aspirin is already known as the remedy to reduce the risk of heart disease, but on the "background" of small risk of stomach bleeds this positive effect is not so markable. However, according to Professor Rothwell, the risk of bleeding in 45-50 years is not so big and you should be avoiding this only after 75 years old.
Of course, it's needed to continue the further research of aspirin's influence on the human body, notes Professor Rothwell. For the moment, he doesn't hurry to give any clear recommendations, though suggests that, after consultation with your doctor if you are the age of forty five - fifty, it's time to start taking this wonder drug and drink it at least 20-25 years. Every day, it's better at night with a glass of milk, not to irritate the stomach. But, anyway you shouldn't forget about healthy lifestyle in all means.
