Antibiotics
Bacterial infection is a colonization of a host human organism by the pathogenic microorganisms called bacteria. Bacteria are unicellular nuclear-free microorganisms that are found everywhere. The most of bacteria are innocent and do not cause any harm to the organism. Some of the them are constant inhabitants of the mucous lining of the skin and gastrointestinal tract. These bacteria protect the skin from the foreign microorganisms and participate in the process of digestion.
Meantime there are pathogenic microorganisms that enter the organism and cause pathological processes in the different organs and systems. Usually when bacteria enter the organism, the immune system produces the specific cells called leukocytes that inactivates pathogenic bacteria. However, in some cases when the organism is weaken and do not have enough protective mechanisms, pathogenic bacteria become multiplying and cause an infection manifested in inflammation, swelling, fever and pain.
In most cases, bacterial infection can successfully be treated through antibacterial preparations called antibiotics. Antibiotics are substances that helps to kill bacteria(bactericidal action) or stop their growth(bacteriostatic action).
Currently medicine possesses a large amount of effective antibiotics that exerts a broad spectrum of antibacterial action against a wide variety of microorganisms. However, unfortunately many bacterial strains become resistant to some antibiotics making them ineffective. This situation requires more rational and deliberate use of antibacterial preparations.
If you have some questions about an infection treatment you may ask our qualified pharmacists which are always glad to help you in your health problems.
